My name is Emily and I live in Las Vegas, NV. I was actually born here and have lived here all my life except one year I spent going to school at BYU in Provo, UT.
I am married to the most wonderful husband in the world. His name is Mark. He is the love of my life and I cannot imagine living without him by my side.
Mark and I have FIVE beautiful sons, ranging in age from 16 to 1. They keep us super busy. Interestingly, I grew up with all sisters...SIX of them, to be exact! So there were 7 girls and I am the middle child. So, I have no idea what I am doing mothering 5 boys, but I guess the Lord thought it would be a good idea:)
I graduated from college in 1999 with a BA in Interior Architecture and Design from UNLV. I worked part time in an architecture firm for a few months after I graduated and before I got married. Mark and I met on an online dating site for LDS (Mormon) people. We met online on December 10th, met in person on December 30th, got engaged on February 14th, and got married on June 15th! So, it was fast but wonderful. We have never looked back! I had my first child when I was young, so after we got engaged we decided I should stay home and be with him and plan our wedding. I am soooo thankful to my husband for supporting our family and making it so that I can stay home with my children. It is definitely not always roses, but I know it is where I want to be and need to be!
I am also so thankful to him for being a super supportive husband. He is always helping me to accomplish my goals and even when I have crazy ideas he doesn't discourage me. Together I think we have been able to create a remarkable home and family!
I have a love of all things creative. I enjoy making things with my hands as well as practicing some interior design when I can. When I am creating something it is sort of a "vacation" from "real life" and taking care of 5 boys. Of course, I never get to sit down and make something from start to finish. Interruptions are inevitable. But when I get something finished I have a sense of accomplishment and am glad I was able to use those talents the Lord has blessed me with.
This blog will be a place for me to share the things I make and do. I hope to be able to sell some of my creations in order to fund my hobbies:) I hope you will enjoy my work and will find some good ideas for creating your own Remarkable Home!

Hi Emily! I'm new to your blog, but I LOVE your Cilantro Pesto recipe and will be trying it VERY soon. I just started a blog of my own - the beginning of this month to be exact - and already have 27 posts, however I have less than half the blog traffic you have had. I was curious how you got your blog "out there" and attracted your followers. I'd love to have a widespread audience. I post about everything from home organization to gardening and my blog is organized, so I don't feel it's overwhelming. But I'd love any pointers if you don't mind sharing?! Here's a link to my blog as well: http://itsamueggelife.blogspot.com/
